Elopements, Backyard Weddings, and Everything Between

Maybe you're eloping, two witnesses and a bouquet from your local florist. Small and simple by choice. Maybe you're gathering forty people in a backyard, or you're neck deep in a three hundred person seating chart, still negotiating the DJ's set list. Whichever one is true for you right now, it's a wedding, and it's exactly what we build for.

You'll spend real hours choosing a florist, a photographer, someone to handle the food, and that time is well spent. Those choices shape the day itself. But the person saying the words that actually make you married, and whatever work the two of you do together beforehand, shapes what comes after, and that decision deserves the same weight on your list as anything else you're planning. Often more.

Every Kind of Wedding Needs the Right Person Leading It

Before Jillori was a business, it was just what our friends called us. Jill and Lori, squished into one word. Somewhere early on, it stopped making sense to talk about us separately. We still call it our Hollywood name, half joking, but there's something true underneath the joke: two people building one thing together is the whole point of what we do now.

We've been married ten years. In that time, we built a marriage across race, culture, and gender. Two families came into it without any shared language for what that would look like. So we built the language ourselves, one conversation at a time. Some of it was hard. Building two families into one took years, not a single conversation, and there were days when staying in it took real effort. Some of it was pure joy. Much of it is just everyday comfort, choosing to love each other every single day.

Over the years, younger couples started asking us for advice. We didn't plan for that. It's grown into something real, part of what this marriage has become. Mentoring the ones building their own version of this feels like the next chapter our marriage was always going to write.

One of us leads the ceremony. The other leads the premarital conversations. Here's how that works.

How We Work

We built two different kinds of work into what we offer. You're welcome to choose one, or both.

Ceremony Design & Officiating

The Ceremony Designer

Jill begins with a conversation about your story, then moves into the parts that need care, family, culture, whatever's complicated. From there, she writes your ceremony, works through revisions with you, and walks you through rehearsal. On the day itself, she's the one standing there with you, saying the words that make it official.

Premarital Mentoring

The 12 Conversations

Lori leads this ahead of the wedding, for couples who want it. Each of you reflects alone first, then you come together for twelve conversations most couples never get around to before the big day. From there, you move into sessions together, working through what surfaced. Whatever's unresolved gets the attention it deserves.

The First Couple We Married

In March, Lauren and Sage Castleberry were the first couple we married under Jillori.

"As a same-sex couple, finding vendors we felt comfortable with was nerve-wracking. Jill and Lori made us feel safe and seen at every step of our wedding journey. They never tried to talk us out of the unconventional, special moments we were imagining. Instead, they worked together to create a beautiful ceremony that felt 100% us."
